The Greater Power

Scriptures: 1 John 4:4 (ESV) Little Children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

The reference He that’s in the world is Satan, the devil, the evil one. Yes, he is powerful and fierce, but God is much more powerful. Through Jesus Christ the Lord’s strength dwells in us and equips us to overcome the enemy.

Satan walks around like a roaring lion looking to see who he can attack, (1 Peter 5:8) but the power that is in you will alert you and then sustain you till you overcome. Jesus said in (John 16:33) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart: I have overcome the world (ESV), remember you are in Christ, if you have confessed Him as Lord and Savior, and have received His Spirit.

We will always face hard times and tribulations as long as we are living in this world. Jesus told us we would even be hated because we don’t belong to the world system anymore, but a new life is in us (2 Corinthians 5:17). When Jesus prayed for us, He didn’t ask that we be taken out of the world, but for us to stay and finish the work for our good, for the benefit of others and to bring Him glory. This is our responsibility to the kingdom.

We want you to be encouraged for the Lord & Savior Jesus Christ has already won the victory for you. When you have difficulties, sickness, financial problems, relationship problems or any other tribulations. Be aware what you have been given and know that power in you is greater than anything you can face and let nothing separate you from that new life that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:31-39). That’s where your victory lies.
